Cystoid Macular Edema
Cystoid
macular edema is when fluid collects
in the macula in the form of "cysts." This could be secondary to
many retinal vascular diseases, including but not limited to, diabetes
mellitus, retinal vein occlusion, and macular degeneration.
Cystoid
macular edema is often a treatable condition, and the appropriate
treatment varies from patient to patient according to his/her underlying
disease."
