Cystoid Macular Edema  

Cystoid macular edema is when fluid collects in the macula in the form of "cysts." This could be secondary to many retinal vascular diseases, including but not limited to, diabetes mellitus, retinal vein occlusion, and macular degeneration.

Cystoid macular edema is often a treatable condition, and the appropriate treatment varies from patient to patient according to his/her underlying disease."
